We've started a new echo that may be of interest to programmers in general:

TagName: NEW_NODELIST
     New Nodelist-Format and Specification Discussion

     An Echo for discussion of a new format for the Fidonet
     Nodelist.  Specifications will be drawn up, and
     submitted to the FTSC.


Our plan is to spec out a new design that may better incorporate Internet
concerns, and submit an fsp (proposal) to the FTSC, thereby encouraging
authors to use the new nodelist in new revisions, designs, etc.

The plan right now is to start using this new format as soon as possible,
converting from the new format to the old format so that current ftn bbs
and nodelist programs will not break.

If you have trouble getting the echo from your uplink, let me know and I'm
