The magazine "Bird Talk" is a fantastic way to learn about birds.  It 
educates you on their health, diet requirements, cages, toys, talking 
ability, and most importantly their personalities.  I subscribed to it for 
several years before we got our birds so I would know what we were doing and 
getting ourselves into.  I really believe that what we have learned from that 
magazine (and books too, but mainly the magazine) has very much helped us to 
provide a happy and healthy environment for our birds.  It also helped us to 
find a good vet for our birds, and another one that's closer for an 
mergency.
