Greetings Alexander!
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Alexander Bilan wrote to Roy

#AB#> eh?)
Which capital--Toronto or Ottawa? :-)
#AB#> About the only good point reported is vehicles 4 to 19 years old
#AB#> will be tested.
Just wait. Sooner or later some bonehead will come up with the idea that
vehicles old enough to not have any anti-smog equipment, should be
retrofitted.
:-/
#AB#> And on smog cops, from the paper; "...the province also plans to
#AB#> use smog police to spot check vehicles. Teams of provincial
#AB#> officers will troll Ontarios highways to nab the worst polluters on
#AB#> the road when the program starts next year.
Oh gimme a break! I wonder if I can redirect my tax dollars in such away that
law enforcement doesn't see any of it. There are *far* better things they can
be doing instead of driving around all day, harassing motorists.
#AB#> -Other than commercial vehicles liscenced in their home state and
#AB#> here, how could they possibly enforce smog checks for vehicles not
#AB#> even registered here!?
I don't think that they could, save for roadside "spot" checks.
#AB#> Same goes for private vehicles, and will they be bothering those of
#AB#> us with exempt vehicles cause it registers on their troll mobiles?
That wouldn't surprise me. Double or triple the probability if the fisherman
is a bona-fide tree hugger.
#AB#> I can see any number of flaws in this, and I'm only glad I'm not
#AB#> part of the initially affected cities, this is going to get very
#AB#> messy.
I think I'm about ready to move off-planet.
