It does? I thought it mean excessive attention to one's appearance to
the point where it's all so important to that individual, nothing else
much matters matters, including their own health/welfare?

IE: As with the young idiots who wear short skirts, no coat and no hat
on a freezing cold day because they're more concerned with looking
stylish than sensible? :)

You mean nothing entertaining in terms of what the humans
want/expect. The horse could be entertaining on its own free of such
expectations. If you just watch them moving about you could be
entertained without any human intervention 'helping out'.

Reminds me of a Luana toon where Luana's elderly retired
teacher/friend has moved to a retirement community. The lady suggests
Luana bring her dog as pets are welcome as entertainment. SO Luan is
trying to get an 'act' together trying to teach her little ole dog
some new tricks. What the elderly woman meant is just SEEING the dogs
and petting them would be entertainment. She didn't mean you gotta put
on a show. Let the animals own nature be the entertainment! :)
