Well there was one scene were one of them landed,  on the surface of a
planet, and then took off again...

Funny how it didn't need any such stuff as external tank,  strap-on
boosters,  etc.  I guess technology moved along some.

There were some issues like that.  I'd say it depends on which ones you
get.  And I think that earlier on it was more that way.  They also include
some flat-out horror,  which is not one of my normal choices for reading
material.
