AA> Thought I'd mention a few books I've read in the last 6
AA> months. Anybody read any of these?

AA> Memories - by Mike McQuay

 Don't recall.

AA> Millenium - by John Varley

 Yep.

AA> X-men - The Legacy Quest Trilogy Book 2 - by Steve Lyons
AA> Star Trek - First Frontier - by Diane Carey and Dr. James
 AA> I. Kirkland

AA> Has anyone read any of these? I'm currently re-reading
AA> Millenium; I first bought this book when I was about 14.
AA> The movie came out in the early nineties or late eighties.
AA> And of course, the movie wasn't as good as the book, as is
 AA> usually the case. :)

I rented the movie just to see if it was the same book. It was,
but, like you said, not as good. Also, as you said, as usual.

OTOH, aside from the cheap special effects, I was surprised at
how good the movie was. Ok, that's damning with faint praise,
and the logic of the plot was weak, but still better than I
 expected. Ok, low expectations.

AA> Memories is an excellent read, I highly recommend it.
AA> Another book I bought when I was a teen. It is time-travel
AA> based, with a very unique spin.

 Remind us.

I saw the movie version of "Nightfall", which was not as bad as
the reviewers said, but still not real good.

I refuse to see the movie "I Robot" cause I know from the
previews it has no more relationship to the book than just the
 name.

The movie Starship Troopers was a mistake.

I saw the previous movie version of the Lord Of the Rings. When
I walked out of the theatre I thought the worst thing about this
movie was that, after a disaster like that, no one will try for
another 20 years. Well, it took 15 years, but this time they got
 it right.
