News Organization Admits Cloning Pagers
The Wall Steet Journal reports that officials at Breaking News Network
have pleaded guilty to charges that they illegally intercepted pager
messages being sent to members of the New York City police and fire
departments. The WSJ says that the owners of the Fort Lee, NJ-based
company and a general manager pleaded guilty to two counts charging
them with intercepting and then distributing the pager messages.
Breaking News Network also pleaded guilty to one count of cloning
pagers programmed to intercept the messages. Sentencing will take
place next year.
