The notion of half is slippery.  Half of 2000 AD is 1000 AD 
while half of 100 AD is 50 AD and half of 10 AD is 5 AD
1/2 more is 1/3 less.  100 + 100/2 = 150, 150 - 150/3 = 100
... Don't start vast projects with half vast ideas. -)
