 You want have him show you his contractor's and business licenses.
 Perhaps furnish you with the name of his bonding company.  Maybe
 the name of his liability insurance company.  Just anything and
 everything that will cover your rear is he is flaky.
 You do want to make damn sure he pays his suppliers and employees
 or subcontractors so they don't place a lien on your house, wages,
 children, pets.
