It's possible, I'll have to see if I can get anything out of the thing -
I've installed a few very similar boxes (father-in-law, sister), and this
is the first one where anything "happens", but it could be
different firmware or something like that.
Do you happen to know if there is a setting in Windows / OE / IE somewhere,
to not pop up that question but simply automatically connect?

Could your modem go offline during periods of activity and take longer to
reestablish the connection than the timeout for detecting an offline
connection? If your modem contains a NAT check if it has logs that show
the connection being dropped and/or reestablished or DHCP activity.

Argh, my home computer has started to ask me that "You are currentyl
working
offline. Would you like to connect now?" question, right out of the blue.
Happens all the time now, when I'm using OE to read newsgroups, and
occasionally when I'm browsing the net.
Was there a setting buried somewhere and then hidden in a spell-check
dialogs help button or some such, to say "Always connect, you stupid
computer"? I'm on ADSL, so this bugs the crap out of me.
The only piece in the puzzle that has changed is my ADSL modem, which went
from A-link to Zyxel, but they should be pretty much the same so I don't
know if that could be the cause...?
