| subject: | Re: Acronis True Image |
From: "Frank Haber" I think Acronis users need two products to 1. clone, with expansion to a bigger new drive. 2. do full partition management. I've used a client's Acronis 7.something, and it worked 4 times and failed once. Ghost 9 feels cobbled together. Ghost 2003, which I also own, fails >200G, on SATA, etc. The drive mfrs free cloners, the ones you get with a retail drive, mostly work, but I've had to run the target on a 40-pin cable in a couple of instances to get a reliable image. There are noises off of SATA trouble there, too. I think the situtation is, uh, fluid. Don't expect the brick *house reliability we used to enjoy in the PM 3-5 days (after we waited for the .01 upgrade to fix the bugs). --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 106/2000 633/267 |
