No its a faux printer driver that makes a pdf file out of what you print
from windows. When you install it you have to reboot, but it doesn't tell
you that you need to reboot. After install you test it, naturally, and it
works fine. Then if you try to really print something before rebooting it
hoses the spooler service, and if you're unlucky may hose some of your real
printer driver setups.
After you install it and reboot before printing, then all seems to work fine.
I've had some funky Lexmark printer drivers that wanted to hose things up
in general. Can't remember if it hosed the spooler service or just several
other things.
I've never tried Canon printer drivers, but now that you mention it, I've
got a new Canon digital copier, fax, and printer at my home office, and I
was going to set it up so I could print to it. I use it primarily for fax
and copying, but it has a relatively fast laser printer engine so I had
thought of using it as a printer as well. Should I avoid this idea and the
Canon drivers?
