They also used to enclose an agreement INSIDE the packet and put
a note on the outside that opening the packet was considered to
be acceptance of the terms of the usage agreement, before you had
had a chance to see it!

Yes, they certainly wanted it all their own way in those days.

And they don't seem to have changed a lot since then.
