Thanks for the good holiday wishes - and you have a wonderful solstice.
(I'll be having a private solstice meditation myself)  Actually I think
it's going to be an excellent Xmas.  Last year, with no thought of 
future reward, my husband and I took a friend with us - a friend who 
had been in a serious drunk driving accident and almost died about 
thanksgiving of that year.  He is also single.  So, although we had 
previously always gone to a particular restaurant on Xmas ALONE - just 
the two of us, sort of thing - we decided to invite him and he came.
We had a really great time.

Take about sowing what is reaped and Karma and all!  This year HE is 
healthy and he is taking US to that same restaurant - so we won't miss 
out on our holiday tradition, although we could never afford to go.
A little money showed up to do some Xmas shopping and I'm doing some 
baking for some other gifts.  I'm keeping it simple and not doing 
competitive gift giving - as in "my gift's more expensive than yours 
is, my gifts' more expensive than yours " etc. (to the tune of the old 
kennel ration commercial)

Tonight I had a particular gift.  An older woman who founded our 
Survivors of Incest Anonymous group and who is thirty years sober in AA
came and got me to bring me to the SIA meeting.  Nobody but us showed 
up, so she took me on an errand with her and we got a chance to talk.
I've known this woman before I was in SIA back when I was a Publically 
Practising Pagan Priestess as her Higher Power is also a feminine One.
She gave me a gift for the holiday and also sent a gift for the 
household - both my husband and i - and they were LOVELY (superb); 
however, the greatest gift was getting to spend some time with this 
busy lady.

I've been able to work out a way to go to the anniversary/holiday party
for the group I go to when I can too, I think.  So I think all in all 
it is going to be a good holiday season for us.  I am also taking an 
oppurtunity to get together with a lady I used to sponsor and go to a 
meeting, exchange gifts, etc.  I think it'll turn out okay.
