| subject: | parakeets and large cage in Dallas |
I have 4 parakeets and a large parakeet cage for which I would like to find
a new home. The birds were all acquired at the same time, a little over one
year ago, from PetSmart. I believe they are all healthy.
We did have a sick bird in January - she and 2 of the remaining birds were
seen by an avian vet. The sick bird (Cincy) was about 5 years old - the two
younger birds went with her because they were both staying near her at home
and I thought they might be good support for her. Cincy's xray showed a
mass - she lived only a few days after that. The vet did a visual exam (no
blood work) on the other two birds and said they looked healthy.
The cage is speckled dark gray with 1/2 inch spacing. The cage area in 65 "
long x 34" high x 21" deep. There is a bottom shelf which spans the length
of the cage; the overall height is 61". The cage has 6 wheels and is easy
to move around - we put it on the back porch on nice days. There is a
removable vertical divider which makes it easy to thoroughly clean one side
of the cage while all the birds are on the other side.
The birds are not tame - they are a small flock. My goal for them was to
give them a nice home and an entertaining environment. Right now I am just
trying to downsize a little, as far as the number of our pets is concerned.
I paid $300 for the cage; I would like to receive $150 for it and the birds.
