Indeed. The allies sent them to a holiday resort to recuperate.

This reminds me of the comment I have occassionaly read, to wit, that the
Russian troops had no choice to fight, because there were other troops
behind them who would shoot if they tried to flee. I often wondered how the
British managed that problem. [WEIL]
