DA> Regards the Republican versus Democrat equation as it relates to
DA> rights. I think there is time to turn the country around. But the
DA> solution lies either in a third party, or a takeover of EITHER the
DA> Republican party or the Democratic party from the ground up by a grass
DA> roots movement.
Exactly!
DA> As I mentioned before, I think it's too late to turn around the
DA> situation in this election. We *might* have time to do it by the
DA> elections in 2000.
IMO, the idea isn't to immediately "turn things around," but the goal is to
wake up & realize that most of us are voting anti-gun, & to quit doing it &
to start voting pro-gun. When the DemoPublicans see this happen, they will
start backing off their gun-grabbing right fast, & we should at least get
some temporary relief.
But I have to agree with those who are anti-NRA on
DA> this. The NRA's solution is "vote republican because the democrats
DA> are worse." That is not a solution. If we vote republican, and leave
DA> it at that, then *eventually* they'll do the very things the democrats
DA> were going to do anyway. The true solution to holding on to our rights
DA> has to be outside of the current republican versus democrat dichotomy.
DA> This is what Guy means by the "conflict of opposites." As long as we
DA> stay inside that "A" versus "B" conflict, where "A" and "B" are just
DA> the left and right rails of the same track, then we're screwed in the
DA> long run.
That sums it up nicely. We are expected to keep our eyes (& brains)
fixated on the heat of the "battle" . . . the conflict of opposites.
However, there is actually no battle going on at all. Most of us are
riding the Train To Hell, but are too mesmerized by the phony conflicts to
get off the train!
There is _no_ battle raging at all to keep our gun rights. The battle to
save the Constitution won't even begin until some people start getting off
the Train . . . . . .
The only "battle" raging at all is the battle to get our guns. Actually,
it isn't even a battle at all, as there is no opposition. As you can see,
most all gun owners are supporting the giving away of our rights with their
own votes, & are proud of it. Instead of a battle, its just a free-for-all
giveaway. There can't be a battle if everyone agrees.
Yes, the Hegelian dialectic process is solidly in place. Gun owners,
like other faithful Fascists, are dancing at the end of the same
strings . . . . . Are the Illuminated Ones really so shrewd that gun
owners can't knock them off? Perhaps it doesn't take much, these days.
