I disagree. Done over a large enough sample, as was the case in
Tennessee, other factors in the study of class size should become
trivialized. Far too often, in education, we follow our hearts to the
new teaching techniques instead of the research. As a result, we have
classes of 35 kids in some districts (because we know in our hearts that
classes of 15 won't make a difference).
It is time we stopped chasing educational fads that sound good on paper
(whole language, NCTM Standards), and followed the research.
