I have been using V.4 DOS for a long time and I have been printing my 
tear-out checks by setting my dot-matix printer to Compressed mode and using 
a "template" into which I slip the check to align it and then just print. 
Everything aligns except the date which I have "blocked out" with my 
template. I hand-write the date, sign it and that's it.
