subject: Convert To Graphic

I'm pretty sure that it was here that I mentioned about
converting text using a "non-standard" font into a graphic.
Someone had apparently had trouble accomplishing it. I just
did some experimenting.
You have to be working in GeoDraw to convert to a graphic
but I don't see why you couldn't do the text work with the
odd font in GeoDraw, convert to a graphic and paste the gra-
phic into GeoWrite.
Select the text tool (the "A" button) and type the text
that you want. Change the font to the odd font. Size probab-
ly won't matter so much as you can resize the graphic but it
might be better to size the text close to the size that you
ultimately want.
Select the select tool (the straight, not curved,
arrow button... although the curved arrow- the rotate tool,
would probably work as well) and select the text object
(you'll get handles). Now you can convert the text to a gra-
phic which can be pasted into a document.
Because it is now a graphic, you SHOULD be able to print
it from any copy of Ensemble v2.x, whether it has the odd
font installed or not, AFAIK. At least it SEEMS to be a true
graphic at this point (the text tool no longer allows you to
edit the text). I'm pretty sure that's the way it is de-
signed to work, anyway. I haven't read the manual. ;-)
