RB> . Quoting Ron Taylor from a message to Ryan Bagueros .
RB>RT> Whats the point? So you want to sit on your butt, do nothing, and

>RT> Bubba. Sure there are plenty of folks who work harder in their own
RB>No, I want fair compensation for the labor that I do ... let me provide an
>example for you.

RB>So, we would go out to a site, it would be me and two other workers, and
the

>For each job.
Then he'd pay for insurance, taxes, workman's comp, SSI, phones, office
expense, and licenses, and all the other overhead that goes into a
business. And while you were hammering nails and lifting siding, he was
sitting in his truck on that expensive cell phone, trying to line up
another job so that he wouldn't have to lay you off when you finished
this one. He probably was still at work, doing the books and trying to
make business ends meet long after you were passed out from your latest
hit.
RB>We didn't need the boss to tell us what to do, or how to do it, we just
>needed
>his ladders, etc. So because he was lucky enough to come into around
$10000+
>worth of tools (already a good thing), he gets to become the boss and rip

>everyone else's labor.
If you think for a minute that the only requirement for running a
successful construction business is ownership of tools, its easy to
understand why HE was the boss and you weren't.
The fortune to have someone pass the business on to him indeed placed
him in an advantageous position... GOOD FOR HIM. But if he didn't have
the sense to RUN that business, your sorry ass wouldn't have had a job
to complain about.
And if you had those attributes, you wouldn't be whining about unfair
wages, YOU would own the business.
RB>Now that's just an example.
And a very good one. Thanks for clearing it up.
