RB> . Quoting Ron Taylor from a message to Ryan Bagueros .
RB>RT> No more than the lowest "class". Everybody has choices. The
>RT> parameters may be different, but priorities are what _make_ the
>RT> difference.
RB>So, a rich kid has the choice between his father paying for four years at
>Duke or his father paying for four years at Stanford.
Basically, yes. A rich kid has a choice of applying himself in college
and learning to make as good a life for himself as he can with the
education, or sitting on his ass and living off his old man.
> A poor kid has the choice between working a crappy job for 40
>hours a week and working 40 hours a week
>and going to school at the same time, putting himself into debt. Is this
>what you mean by "different parameters"?
The poor kid has the choice of working part time and spending six or
eight or ten years to get the same education to make the same life style
as the rich kid did in four. The parameters are different, but the
choices are the same.
RB>RT> Wrong again Bucko. Nobody is denying the presence of racism,
>RT> classism, and sexism. Evil will never be eliminated. What separates
>RT> the true "classes" is how you deal with it. To blame evil for your
>RT> plight is worse than those who would perpetrate it against you. You
RB>Bull. First of all, racism/classism/sexism are not EVILS, as in some
>unearthly force acting, but are the DIRECT results of conscious
>decisions made by human beings.
Who said anything about _unearthly forces_. The only evil that you
will ever have to deal with is the DIRECT result of conscious decisions
made by human beings.
> How do you "deal" with racism?
The same way you "deal" with any other wrong. First, you find a way to
make the best of it for yourself and those that you are responsible for,
then you look for ways to erase it and work for those ends. Your other
choice is to blame it for your own inadequacies and wallow in a pool of
self pity, blaming someone else for your plight.
> So how do we separate you into the "true classes"? Welcome
>to
>real life, the "true classes" are separated by what color your skin is,
ow
>much money you have, and if you have a penis or not.
You have just called all the poor black women in the world, "low class".
I'll bet that most of them would take exception with you.
RB>As for me being a victim, no, I'm not. Why? Because instead of letting
these
>forces degrade me as a human being, I've decided to FIGHT BACK against
them,
>not try to work around them, not compromise my principles for them, not
ry
>to
>apologize for them (in other words, all the things YOU do).
You left out one... _blame_ them. In all cases, either you are lying
now or in the last umpteen posts. Which is it?
