As Julia Sidebottom was saying to Bettie West:

I feel the same way. I don't involve myself in any of
the internet newsgroups. It definitely doesn't have the
same feel and caring that I get from those participating
in fidonet. While I have an e-mail address and e-mail
friends, participating in the newsgroups got too
discouraging and too much flaming and spams and such.
I don't log on every day either. I usually end up
responding once or twice a week, but when my e-mail
access is down (as it is at the moment) I come here
a lot more often to find support and often comfort.
