SPOT COMET MACHHOLZ

The Moon will rise well after sunset starting Thursday, January 27th,
allowing you to observe the comet in a dark, early evening sky. By now
Machholz is starting to fade a little as it moves farther from Earth. It
will remain visible in binoculars at least through February and in a
telescope at least through May.

SPOT TWO ASTEROIDS NEAR SATURN

If you're checking out Saturn and its moon Titan in the next few weeks,
consider taking a few moments to seek out the minor planets 8 Flora and
532 Herculina. Both are nearby and can be spotted with binoculars.
