EG> 1. If you're going to judge baseball by a sport like hockey then
EG> consider that the hockey team has less room to fill in order to have a
 EG> sellout.
But on a hockey team, it has less "multi-millionaires" than on a
baseball team. Isn't it true that hockey tickets costs more than baseball
tickets? I think for $4 you can sit in the bleachers a tthe Big O. But you
need
$10 (at least) to get the cheapest section (standup) at the hockey rink.
EG> Don't blame the fans because it's MANAGEMENT'S responsibility to
EG> either put a competitive team on the field or at the very least, make
EG> it seem like they're trying. When fan favorites are traded or allowed
EG> to leave because management would rather keep their profits then can
EG> you blame the fans if they sour on the franchise? The fans gave them
EG> above average support during their early bad years so don't call them
EG> front runners (There are clubs out there that get far less support
EG> when they're down then when they're up). The Expos got a lot more fans
EG> in the stands than they deserved during their early years and then got
EG> a ton of them when they turned the corner. Management is the first,
EG> second and last reason why Montreal's fans aren't coming out. Don't
EG> buy their pr, take them to task for losing the fans because of their
 EG> stupidity and greed.
I am very disappointed when I see those great players leave the city.
Pedro Martinez, Larry Walker, Marquis Grissom, Delino DeShields, Randy
Johnson...
But don't you think that the Montreal Expos is not as rich as other ball
clubs? The Expos can't afford those players. I wish they could.
I wish I knew how much the owner(s) of the Montreal Expos can
afford to spend on signing big contracts.
