Very definitely a slow down -- it happens when I do a scan for new mail --
the area name shows up, the system freezes for about 3 seconds, then the
message appears.

PII-350, Win 95B, 64 megs, accessing message files stored on another
machine (via PCNet and Arcnet coax).
