Hi Lily Lady!
-=> Quoting Jeannelou Truitt to Wendy Buchanan <=-
JT> I'm so sorry to hear about all of your phyical problems. I hope
JT> that by the time this reaches you, the doctors will have traced them
JT> down and stamped them OUT.
Well, the doctors don't have a clue but I've discovered a few
ways around things. We all have to learn to deal with stuff
life tosses at us without falling apart and I guess this is my
big chance!
JT> Thanks for asking about WAyne. In case you missed my other message
JT> about it; he is doing much better. Of course, he is never going to be
JT> well, but the chest pain that has been giving him fits for the last 6-7
JT> years [since his triple by-pass] has finally been discovered to be from
JT> an injury to his floating rib. A little super BEnGay when it starts
JT> tromps on it. What's more, the frequency of it even starting is down.
Oh that's good. That pain is terrible, I've heard. My mother has
what the doctor says is angina, but the pills he gave her don't help
her much so she's disgusted.
JT> We are so thankful. As for me, nothing new except that i have been
JT> diagnosed as having Tourette's Syndrome. Fortunately, that isn't
JT> painful, just embarassing. I am getting back into calligraphy and
Yes, it can be very embarrassing but anyone with any heart knows it
is not your fault, and who cares a rip about the rest of the people?
If they don't have any heart it's their problem, not yours!
JT> illumination. The illumination part is my favorite. I got into
JT> calligraphy the first time when i started decopoge. I just couldn't
JT> see paying 2 or 3 dollars for a sheet of paper with some saying on it.
I can't see paying up to ten dollars for a rubber stamp with some
saying on it either, so I'm making my own verses and sayings for
my rs cards and such, with embossing ink and the calligraphy pen I
have had but rarely used all this time. It's coming in very handy
now and I don't have to buy all those stamps, or try to configure
my el cheapo printer to do graphic stuff, which it doesn't seem to
want to do.
JT> Now of course, i do it mostly for scrolls as awards in the SCA. A the
JT> moment i am working on "Award of Arms" scrolls. This is the most
JT> comman and usually the first award that anyone recieves, so they need a
JT> lot of them. Since i play in 2 kingdoms, there is an almost unlimited
JT> demand for them, even if i make several to one design. God bless,
Thank you for the blessings, and it sounds like you have things to
keep you busy. I can't remember, and you've probably told me before,
but what does "illumination" involve?
I'm fascinated by Julia's pergamano, but I want to get better at
rubber stamping and the calligraphy first. Then maybe later I'll
get into the pergamano. Not sure if I have the patience for it.
God Bless, and Lady Bear Hugs,
Wendy
