-> There are modem and telepone connected to my line. If somebody use phone
-> have "No dialtone" message using terminal program. Does
anybody know how
-> organize this king of checking in BASIC?
-> Something like function, which return TRUE or FALSE accordingly to phone
-> status...
-> Gregory [Node After Thirty]
The message is generated by the modem. So all you have to program your
computer to do is recognize the string "NO DIALTONE" when it arrives.
INPUT #1, L$ ' file #1 is open to the modem port
IF L$ = "NO DIALTONE" THEN
......
Something like that, anyway. I have written similar bits of code to
make the computer tell the modem to answer the phone when the message
"RING" arrives.
IF L$ = "RING" THEN PRINT #1 "ATA"
Not difficult.
