I considered the commercialism angle when I first read the reports.
Seems I remember the spokesman from ACC dropping the hint that his
company was considering going public. And to, most of the reports
include some whining verbiage about the dependability of their systems,
and how they have been passed over in the market place.
Yep... effective, at least in the short run. Name recognition is
important in any marketing campaign even if it has a negative
connotation. Look at all the TV commercials that paint people in a bad
light, even the users of the advertised products.
