Charles, is there any possibility that you are not 100% correct in all
your beliefs?

I don't want people smoking in public, Charles. Second hand smoke
causes people to die! It's not good for children and other living
things! And this is not brain washing. Smoking is particularly
dangerous to people with asthma. I have asthma, although only a very
mild variety, and I *know* what it does to me. It is life threatening to
people with severe asthma; and to other groups of people also. Second
hand smoke *kills* several thousand people per year. The laws against
smoking are there to protect vulnerable folks from that second hand
smoke.
Seat belts are also required because they protect more than just *you*.
A driver who is being thrown about a car during an accident has less
chance of gaining control of the car than one who is not. He or she
also has a greater chance of being thrown into another passenger, and
killing or injuring them. Small children in car seats are almost never
injured during accidents, unless they are seated in a front seat that
has an air bag; or unless an unbelted person is thrown against them.
