I was at an airfield that had a "hasty" runway on one side that the Army and
similar folks used and a concrete side the Air Force and Navy used. One day
I walked over to the other side to take movies with my brand new Super 8
camera. Some Air Force pilot was getting an in-country transition to C-47s
(at least I hope he wasn't a certified pilot). At any rate, I have a few
movies of landings where the last part is a shot of my feet and the sand as I
ran to get behind something. I never before or since have seen anything so
big so out of control. Very impressive.
