Hello All!
I got back ten days ago from one of my madcap drives. I had a conference
to attend in Regina, Saskatchewan, and decided that it would be just as
easy to drive as it would have been to fly. Not quite as I covered some
5500 km (just under 3500 miles) in 6 days but my Honda Accord covered the
distance with aplomb and I saw a lot of gorgeous country while the colours
were changing. I also saw a fair number of buffalo, caribou, Stone sheep,
elk and deer.
So what does all this prove other than my wife's conclusion that I must be
mad? The Alaska (Alcan) Highway has become amazingly good road, at least
from Whitehorse to Dawson Creek (1430 km or 890 miles). There really isn't
much of an excuse not to visit.
Take care,
