NB> Hello to All,
NB> Can anyone out there help me with a couple of things. About 10/12
NB> months ago I purchased a Pseudacanthicus Leopardus [common name Leopard
NB> Pekoltia] and a Hypancistrus Zebra [common name Zebra Pekoltia] both
NB> members I believe of the Loricariid family of catfish, both were about
NB> 1 1/2 inches long when purchased, but now the Leopard is about 5/6
NB> inches and the Zebra about 2 inches long, what I need to know is 1) How
NB> big does the Leopard Pekoltia get
NB> 2) How big does/does'nt the Zebra get
NB> 3) Could it be that the Zebra does'nt feed very well?
The Zebra Pleco only gets about 3 - 3.5" in length. The Leopard (also called
Spiny Red Devil in some areas) gets to at least 15 inches. We had one in the
store I work part time for that was that large. We also got in a few 1.5"
ones, both of which I took bought. Both are now close to 6 inches a couple
years later (they are slow growers).
Since the Leopard gets quite large and is somewhat aggressive,I would suggest
getting the zebra out and into another tank.
