Pretty well. Certainly is allowing me some time to decompress. However,
I have a list of things to do a mile long (it's so easy in this
profession during the school year to put aside numerous tasks to be done
during the summer, such that the list becomes impossible).
Besides wanting to spend more time with my kids and family, and doing a
number of upkeep chores for the house (house is badly in need of
cleaning and care), on the professional front I am:
1. Attending a week-long workshop on the Geometer's Sketchpad software
by Key Curriculum Press. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for UC Berkley.
2. Reviewing the programming language Pascal (and dabbling a bit with
Logo) as I prepare to teach AP Computer Science this Fall.
3. Going down to the school once or twice a week to file papers in my
classroom and work on the Math Dept. computer to get it prepped for the
coming school year.
4. I'm meeting in August with two of the teachers in our dept. to teach
them how to use Web software to browse the web.
5. I'm tutoring a girl who was in my geometry class this past year every
two to three Fridays for two hours at a go in Algebra II skills in
preparation for this coming year.
6. Attending a week-long workshop on AP Computer Science.
I think I'll stop there. I know the list isn't complete, but I'm
beginning to get depressed.
At least I'm managing to sleep late fairly often and have time to do
things with the kids. Had a nice 4th of July with the family.
