1. If you're going to judge baseball by a sport like hockey then consider
that the hockey team has less room to fill in order to have a sellout.
2. When they had guys like Carter, Raines, Dawson, etc., they were drawing
28,000+. Quite respectable for a "hockey* city.

Don't blame the fans because it's MANAGEMENT'S responsibility to either put a
competitive team on the field or at the very least, make it seem like they're
trying. When fan favorites are traded or allowed to leave because management
would rather keep their profits then can you blame the fans if they sour on
the franchise? The fans gave them above average support during their early
bad years so don't call them front runners (There are clubs out there that
get far less support when they're down then when they're up). The Expos got a
lot more fans in the stands than they deserved during their early years and
then got a ton of them when they turned the corner. Management is the first,
second and last reason why Montreal's fans aren't coming out. Don't buy their
pr, take them to task for losing the fans because of their stupidity and
greed.
