The simplest way that comes to mind is to direct the "dir" comman to a text 
file.  Then, in filearea.ctl, use the filelist command to point to that file.
For example, from the directory on the CD type "dir>filename.bbs" then edit 
the text file so it contains the files you wish users to download.

        Download        z:\001a
        Upload          v:\max\files\recent
        Filelist        v:\max\files\filelist\001a.bbs <--- the file your dir
