We could always plead ignorance.  Those ice roads Jim Weller talks about
have been around for no more than 35 years and the trucks esing them throw
exhaust emissions into what once was pristine air.  They could not be
expected to last forever.

Worse yet is that the problems in the atmosphere may not even be ours.  So
we get stuck with a problem not of our making.

We're finally getting the right temperatures but are not getting the snow yet.
