I have a beat-up old 800XLT that I run mobile in my beat-up old
Land Rover on non-roads in the middle of nowhere... if it was to
get lost/stolen/rained on/crushed/etc. I'd miss it a lot less than
say, my 2006 or Icom R-10. Kinda like having a new car for dates and such
and a "beater" (runs well, looks like hell! ) for going to work and
running errands where another door dent or shopping-cart-kamikaze attack
