re - she signed herself out - it's hard to watch someone you love
choose death. I've had four people I loved very much go that route.
I currently have a couple of neighbors who aren't really bad people,
just bound and determined to keep drinking and/or drugging. It's sad
to watch. But in Al-Anon (I'm also in that) I learned the that I am
also powerless over alcohol (and other substances) when they are in
other bodies - not just in my own. It was such a relief when someone
taught me about the three c's - I didn't Cause it, I can't Control it,
and I can't Cure it. Now I've been able to set other people in my life
free to make their own choices and create their own lives. Doing this
sets ME free to work on what I have to do to stay sober and clean
today.
.
I'm very curious about why you work with AA if you aren't IN AA. If
you would like to tell me in net-mail, since I believe we are on the 12
steps echo and I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be limitted to the
discussion of the 12 steps.
