Hi there.
I was wondering if there are any of you out there that still
think about those life long dreams that all of us once had
as a child. Is that dream still in there for you to achieve?
I know that for myself I was always willing to settle for what
was in front of me. Even if it was not what I wanted for an
end result. Why? Because that is how and many others like
me are conditioned. We are told by family, friends, employers,
doctors, ect. that this is the best that you can do and not
to "expect" any better results. This is why I believe that
even in recovery that many people do not make it long term.
The same goes for people pursuing a career in life. We call
this lack of belief in "self". We can also call it lack of
commitment.
Today I am also learning that if I want to achieve my dreams
and goals, I "MUST" be willing to stay out of my comfort zone
for a while. I must do the things that non-achievers and non-
successful people aren't willing to do. Do I like this fact?
Not exactly. But as someone who has had many failings in life,
I am happy to say that at age 31, I don't want to wait till my
retirement has come to find this all out.
Can anyone else share their E.S.H. on this topic?
More to come.
