I ran across a web page a while back concerning those "laws".
The history goes back thousands of years.

Hitler believed he was doing God's work.  And the German people, as
well as other Germanic peoples, believed him.  Hitler viewed himself
as being a good Christian, and always considered himself as being a
cultural Catholic, having been born Catholic, raised Catholic, serving
as an altar boy, and "protecting" the Church as leader of Germany.

Most Christians are unaware of what those "Seven Noachide Laws" are,
or what they imply.  But members of Congress always obey the first law
of politics - the goal of which is to get re-elected.  By citing "family
values", or "traditional values", or "moral
values", congresscritters
are able to paint themselves as more "moral" than their opponents.

Could this have been a reference to the 7 laws of Noah?
