Hi, Ardith... AH> Absolutely! Recommended reading, BTW... LOVE, MEDICINE & MIRACLES AH>by Dr. Bernie Siegel. That's where we got the name for the SURVIVOR AH>echo.... Sorry I didn't reply sooner. My Mom got my Dad home from the hospital...but as with my late grandmother, his anxiety caused breathing problems, so she had to rush him back to the emergency room. He is home now, but hasn't had many "good days" since they discovered the cancer. The thing is, he has been almost constantly in a state of nausea...even though he has medicine for it. Thankfully, my brother and his fiance' aren't as squeamish as I am (he hunts and cleans his own deer, etc., and she has nursing experience). Unlike me, where I see, hear, or smell someone vomiting, I will violently do likewise within 15 seconds. So, I have not seen my Dad since he left to go into the hospital, but have talked to him a few times. He is still obviously depressed, as noted earlier. My wife and I talked to a veterinary technician the other day (we had to get some medicine for our dachshund)...and have talked to various nurses recently. These, along with some psychology professors at the local college, have "sympathy sickness" as I do...and vomiting is where all of them draw the line. So, if these "professionals" have trouble, what does that say for me?? That's an issue of "survival" unto itself.
