I found out the file to delete to "clear the overall cache".  But
I, as a user, should not have to do that.  Shouldn't the cache just update
itself and get rid of the dirty data?

Do Microsoft's disk caches require the user to manually clean the dirty
data out of them or clean the overall cache?
