No, it is an enclosed porch. It is closer to the other birds outside. He is 
quite content out there.
As fr the reason? Yes, he is bored. He will hang on his door and call my 
name. I made the mistake of teaching him my name! He is a very social bird 
and will spend most of the day out of his cage and on my shoulder or perch.
