the Quebecois may speak a patois that resembles French, it is just a dialect,
as is the variation spoken by the Arcadians (*cajuns*) of Louisiana...so much
for YOUR research....  A person born and raised in Quebec is not - CAN NOT BE 
- French.... 
The fact that the people will come out to see a native-born Canadian player,
when they will not flock to the gates to see a highly-seeded team shows only 
that nationalism/patriotism is alive and well in Montreal or Toronto -  just 
as the Cuban tranplants in Southern Florida made a super-hero of Livan 
Hernandez, despite his "spoiled brat" tantrum in game one of the World
