Just goes to show how far out to left field some of this smog stuff goes.
Such as the ignition, regardless of whats there it still does the same
thing, and considering most folks put something better in place of the
original...
    ...but then, that makes sense, and we can't have sense around gov't.

Two good rumours however, 20 years and older is exempt. (YAY! On two cars)
The other, its going to be tailpipe and independants will be allowed to smog
check.
 Which leads me to digress, my mechanic has an OTC 3400 digital
exhaust gas analyzer thats gone bad one of the ham-fists went into it to
clean out sucked up antifreeze... ...now it don't work, cursory inspection
shows poor choice of connectors and NO keyed connectors. Easy guess whats
wrong with it, but being loaded with rows of connectors offering
multi-posistions (sorta like a 120/240 select jumper). OTC U.S.A will not
sell schematics. Canadian authorized repair depot (private repair shop)
which (understandably) gives me that, "'What the h*ll do you mean sell _you_
a schematic and take away a sale from me'"  Anyway, if you ever see or hear
of somebody getting schematics one way or the other on that unit, I'm
interested.

Not knowing what sort of trouble this comment will cause; but, what kind of
material do you need to do your own "Carb" testing and issue your own
sticker? .
