I've been told once that dogs really don't have a sense of taste and will gulp
down "whatever" ... they're supposed to smell, but not taste.
 
Then again, the camp ranger in Montana where I spend my summers, used to feed
leftover spaghetti to the deer on te island. They dove into it with their noses
burried ... but left the olives.
 
They also loved overdue cheeseburgers.
