Hmmm. Do You really read this manual to Local SQL? Every topic of it 
describes differences between 'Local SQL' dialect and ANSI SQL. What are You 
require from BDE when it accesses to desktop, nonSQL, databases? Full 
emulation of SQL Server on workstation desktop database? If You want, You can 
use Interbase which deployed within.
