VF> Dear Hank,
VF> Thank you so much for writing.
VF>
VF> How horrible for all of you. How is your wife doing now? I
VF> know so many people now that have served time for things
VF> they didn't do.
MUCH better, now, thank you. She, in fact, has started her own company and
is doing quite well, considering...
... "That truth and justice would prevail." and "That the legal system is a
VF> just system."
The Texas judicial system is such a crock! I'm teaching my children about
the way the Texas system really is; not the way we were led to believe in
school...Unfortunate, but true...
HB> CPS workers here in Texas do not even have to have a degree in that
HB> field...ANY college degree will work!
VF> Here, a barber must have a FOUR year degree, and pass at
VF> least TWO state licensing boards in order to be allowed to
VF> remove so much as one inch of HAIR. Yet a social worker
VF> needs only a two year degree, in any subject, and there is
VF> no state licensing required to remove a CHILD.
HB> I also found out that the worker on our case had a degree in interior
HB> design!
VF>
VF> Maybe she/he didn't like your decor. (No that was not an
VF> attempt at humor, it is simply how they seem to rationalize
VF> things.)
VF>
VF> us can organize something and then we'll take it from there.
VF> One friend of mine suggested loading box cars (trains)
VF> full of case files of people that were victimized by CPS and
VF> sending it to the White House. There could be a whole lot of
VF> media attention and I think it would really generate a lot
VF> of interest, but who knows how much good it would do? It
VF> also helps to have a reasonable alternative or another plan
VF> to follow if we should manage to pull CPS down, as there are
VF> children who do need protection from their families, and we
VF> don't want to leave them stranded in bad situations.
VF> Whatever we do, it HAS to be done right. If you have any
VF> ideas, I'd love to hear them.
I'll try to think of something, I assure you!
VF> Talk to you later. Say HI to your wife and kids for me.
I'll tell them! BTW, when Jan had to go to prison here, her college
education was actually a hinderance...she and I are so much better educated
than the guards that they resented her and really felt like she and I were
looking down on her (especially when they found out that we were not only
educated, but also were business owners, homeowners, and I also have held an
extremely well-paying job for about 15 years.). They just didn't seem to
have a category to fit us in to...
Val, good luck, and in any case, please keep the faith and keep us
informed...Our prayers are with you and your family...
Sincerely,
Hank Ball
