TR> I doubt one of those "wrapped up tight" types could have forced the

RT> Prosecute? No, but there are many in the system who would have taken
RT> extreme measures to remove him from society and "protect him from
RT> himself". Reference the recent events concerning one Shirley Allen in
 RT> Roby, Illinois.
Everything I read about the Shirley Allen case is extremely one-sided. I've
already argued this case in another echo and don't wish to do so again. I
will simply say that a court order was involved, and the police were not able
to release much of their side in this case. As a result, some of the more
extreme media proceeded with ill-informed half-truths. The police will never
be able to release their side of this story due to protections for the
mentally ill. I guess that folks could "IF" this case to death with half of
the story and draw all kinds of conclusions. However, these conclusions would
only be worth what they would be in any other case with 50% of the
information. The case started in court, and I'm sure it will end in court, so
I guess that is all I have to say about this particular case.
